Česká komora architektů vyhlásila 3. ročník České ceny za architekturu. Soutěžní přehlídka je otevřena architektonickým realizacím postaveným na území České republiky za posledních pět let. Architekti do ní mohou svá díla přihlašovat do 31. března 2018. Již tradičně kredit České ceny za architekturu podporuje prestižní sedmičlenná mezinárodní porota, ale také odborná akademie. Význam České ceny za architekturu je rovněž v celoroční a regionální propagaci architektury. Přihlašování opět proběhne formou on-line formuláře a není spojeno s žádnými náklady ze strany soutěžících architektů. Výsledky budou vyhlášeny na slavnostním galavečeru, jenž se uskuteční v listopadu 2018.

Dne 12. února 2018 vypukne třetí ročník studentské soutěže Český ostrovní dům, která se zaměřuje na propojení architektury s technologickými inovacemi, fenoménem soběstačnosti, moderním TZB, inteligentními systémy, decentralizovanou energetikou, elektromobilitou či budoucností vodního managementu. Soutěž je otevřena všem studentům z jakékoli vysoké školy či univerzity v ČR nebo SR.

The renovation of the Loučná riverbank, in the center of Litomyšl, connects to a section previously completed by Josef Pleskot’s AP atelier. The concept of the renovation is based on connecting four different urban spaces – the waterfront, riverbanks, park, and street – into one functional whole. A city promenade under the trees is emerging on the waterfront, fringed with a low colored concrete wall that creates a border between the city and the natural riverbanks. The riverbanks are kept wild and made accessible only on selected sites with light observation posts where people can watch birds and fish. The park near the Smetana House has been transformed into a sunny recreation meadow. A restuarants outside seating was also restored, newly completed with a steel pavilion with a green roof.
